So I think a lot of you guys have noticed me around... but I never gave an introduction post haha! Better late than never I guess...
My real name is Drew, but you guys can call me Sportwagen, Commander of the Starship LOLwagen JSW-361 (Model code, first 3 in license plate, like naval ships). I came from a land far far away where the Sportwagen TDIs roam freely, revving up to near redline with freedom and no restrictions (AKA an emission free state lol Kansas rocks!)
I am a 17 year old Senior in high school in Wichita, Kansas (no, we don't all live on dirt roads and farms, even though I do ;) I got my Instruction Permit when I turned 14 in 2011 and since then I have driven around 75K miles total and around 55K of those in my Jetta :) I have a squeaky clean driving record (no accidents or tickets, not even a pull over yet!) but I have a need... a need for speed!
Say hi to Jayhawk Jake in the black helmet!
MMMMM DAT BODY ROLL
I was lurking on Oppo for about 2 years before I finally pulled the trigger back in July and met up with the other Wichita Oppo's (Jay Lauer, JayhawkJake, midengineer, Jake Pilot of the Murdersofa, AthomSphere, etc.) I love Oppo! It is a really tight knit community (except when sensitive topics come up, THANKS JEZEBEL AND GROUPTHINK) *please don't flame me!*
To be honest, I think I'm going to end up being an IT guy or working in the robotics field with a Computer Engineering Masters Degree! I'm not exactly sure yet, but I have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing.
I love all sorts of cars! Top ten time!
1. LS7 and Tremec T56 swapped toffee brown sportwagen (something like this)
RWD of course!
2. Turbo'd to the moon Evo Orange NB Miata!
3. Stock Corvette C6 Z06 in Atomic Orange
4. Autocross ready FoxBody (Race Red, Coyote or Terminator swapped, IRS, Stripped and caged interior, S/C'd, 305's all around, DTM body kit, etc.)
(Minus the horrible spoiler on top of the spoiler and those wheels)
.
.
.
.
5. My current Sportwagen! With a Malone Stage 2 Tune (170WHP and 320 LB-FT of torque!)
6. Stock 2000 Cobra R w/ addition of A/C lol
7. Rally prepped but streetable Bugeye WRX STI
8. Bayside Blue R33 GT-R V-Spec
9. Mint Green Volvo V70R with a REAL AWD swap (not the 90/10 Haldex shit)
10. Samoa Orange Audi R8 V10 with 6 speed gated manual / Orange Aston Martin V8 Vantage with 6 speed manual
Also, OPPOSITELOCK, F*CK YEAH!
You guys are awesome!
Keep calm and
RS7 on!

About what?
![]() 10/07/2014 at 22:20 |
|
I don't need a reason. I just do.
![]() 10/07/2014 at 22:22 |

Who needs AWD, why not swap a V70R engine into one of these. RWD masterlyfe.

Fine, how about an 850 T5-R Brick?
![]() 10/07/2014 at 22:27 |
|
We had an 850 Turbo wagon along with our 240 wagon, it was fast as hell(when it ran right), but it was FWD.

K-member swap?
![]() 10/07/2014 at 22:30 |
|
It would be a bit more involved than that. Like making a transmission tunnel and the like. It could be done, but since you can get one of the above cars for next to nothing, it wouldn't be worth it. Plus the 240 is lighter.

240 with 850 body panels grafted on?
![]() 10/07/2014 at 22:37 |
|
You like the 850 don't you?
![]() 10/07/2014 at 22:38 |

I like the looks of the R cars ;)
![]() 10/07/2014 at 22:51 |

I have a bit of a bias towards the 240, we've had ours since I was 6. I remember taking Sunday rides in it through the hills of southern Tennessee. It was the first thing I ever drove and drifted. It's what took me to baseball practice and everywhere in between. It's survived 3 crashes, 2 of which totaled it. The p.o. just wouldn't let it die. Sadly, she's seen better days. Hopefully this weekend I'll be bringing it down to Florida to get her running again, so I can have something a bit safer and efficient to daily drive. Funny enough that I used to hate that fucking car.
Her in her 7 year resting place.

;( So sad... LS SWAP?
![]() 10/07/2014 at 22:53 |

The level of VAG in the post is Noice. Welcome! Also that RS7 looks like BUSINESS

For now I just plan on getting it running/to stop puking oil and driving it. Later on down the road when I finish my unstarted 4Runner project, I may do a D24T/5 speed swap. I'm more of a diesel person.
![]() 10/07/2014 at 22:57 |
|
Yes it does!
![]() 10/07/2014 at 22:59 |
|
Well.... I drive a TDI Sportwagen so.... diesel FTW!
![]() 10/07/2014 at 23:01 |
|
The D24T is an Audi/VW engine, so it'll be your engines ancestor.

Great great great great great grandfather? Were the internals made of stone?
![]() 10/07/2014 at 23:07 |
|
Probably not, but probably some of the good stuff from back in the day. None of that "Save the Earth" bullshit emissions devices. Just cause it's smokin', don't mean it's broken! #SMOKELIFE

+all of the stars! Our stock 2006 Ram Cummins rolls coal like crazy when you stomp on it but we didn't mod it at all!
![]() 10/07/2014 at 23:14 |
|
Nice intro, really well written. You seem like a very funny guy, and we are glad to have ya here!
![]() 10/07/2014 at 23:20 |
|
Thanks!
![]() 10/07/2014 at 23:38 |

If it hadn't sold the day before, I would be driving an '01 Cummins. It looked brand new, even the dash wasn't cracked. Completely stock down to the exhaust, no lift at all. It looked exactly like this, other than it didn't have the tow mirrors.
![]() 10/07/2014 at 23:39 |
|
Awwww yissssss did it have a manual?
![]() 10/07/2014 at 23:54 |
|
Nope, sadly it did not. It was a 47RE. I had big plans for it.
![]() 10/07/2014 at 23:56 |
|
Ah, ours is an auto also (dad didn't want a manual :(
![]() 10/08/2014 at 00:00 |
|
The auto's really weren't any worse than any 4-speed auto GM or Ford transmissions. Plus, drag racing diesels use autos!
![]() 10/08/2014 at 00:50 |
|
Now you must name the next person who hasnt done an intro to do one (if they want) so that we dont have a flood of these again.
![]() 10/08/2014 at 00:52 |
|
Has the Pilot of the Murdersofa done one yet?
![]() 10/08/2014 at 00:55 |
|
I have no Idea. But I think nominations are how we are doing these now (I think). Intros and AMAs
![]() 10/08/2014 at 01:02 |
|
Well BlueMazda2 - Colombian Alfista basically nominated me ;)
![]() 10/08/2014 at 01:28 |
|
So, ya I guess that is how We're doing things now
![]() 10/08/2014 at 09:46 |
|
....that just looks so god dam right....
![]() 10/08/2014 at 12:44 |
|
That's right, embrace the smoke! It is right.
![]() 10/08/2014 at 21:34 |
|
Now that's an introduction. Nice to meet you Drew, I'm Camilo. I told you I'd say hi. There's a Samoa Orange R8 GT running around Boca. Autocrossing a Jetta Sportwagon? I think it's time for me to ask my mother about autocrossing her Passat.
![]() 10/08/2014 at 21:37 |
|
Yeah, it isn't fast (6th from last at the last event out of about 40 cars :P) but it is terrifying! (Jake said it has almost as much body roll as Jake Pilot of the Murdersofa's Buick!) If I could get a tune and better wheels and tires...
![]() 10/08/2014 at 21:44 |
|
The Passat doesn't have that much body roll. If you want to see terrifying, I'll bring my dad's '04 Ranger Edge SuperCab 3.0 V6 5 Speed. It has an engine and 4 Michelin tires. That's about all it has in terms of performance. Oh, wait, it has decals that say EDGE on the sides. Those must add 25 hp each.
